There are some things you just gotta have on hand at all times. With these items in your pantry you'll always have shit to whip up something good for dinner. At my house I always have 2 to 3 types of dried beans, big bags of brown rice & jasmine rice, dried pastas (I usually have something substantial like penne, something for salads & soups like mini shells, & spaghetti), & dried lentils. For canned goods I keep 4 types of canned beans (for when you get home from work too damned tired to soak the dried ones), diced canned tomatoes (some plain, Italian herbs & others with green chilies), chicken & veggie broth, canned green chilies, green enchilada sauce, salsa verde & i also have various bullion (I like better than bullion but cubes work too). I always have on hand extra virgin olive oil, toasted sesame oil, and another oil with a high smoke point like canola or safflower. We always have peanut butter and tahini on hand. I like a variety of fucking vinegar so I've got rice, red wine, balsamic, apple cider, white distilled, & white wine. I think you would be ok with just keeping some rice, balsamic, & apple cider vinegar on hand. I love spicy fucking food to burn your face off, so I've got sriracha, sweet chili sauce, chili paste, Tabasco, and wasabi for when I want to spice shit up. I like to say if you can't handle the heat stay outta my kitchen! Don't forget rolled oats, some kind of nuts (almonds, pecans, etc), & some dried fruits like blueberries or cranberries to throw on a salad when your favorite fruits are outta season. In another section of my pantry I keep white flour, whole wheat flour, & whole wheat pastry flour. We've got your typical white & brown sugars cuz my daughter is the bomb at baking. Which means we've got the baking soda, baking powder, & baking cocoa locked down! At a later date we'll discuss the spice cabinet! At this point don't go breaking the fucking bank to stock up all this shit, it takes time to get your pantry on point. A lot of these things will last a long time so with planning you can get some shit one month & other shit another. However, your family will never go hungry if you have some of these staples on hand at all times. If I missed anything you think is important shoot me a message & lets start a dialog!
